Mixon, a fugitive parolee who shot four Oakland police officers to death Saturday before he was killed as he hid inside his sister’s apartment, may have committed as many as five other rapes in the same neighborhood in recent months, investigators said. The victims in those rapes were all attacked in the early morning hours, the same time of day as the girl who was raped Feb. 5, and the assailant’s behavior was similar in all the assaults, police said.

The last officer in the Oakland cop-killing spree has been taken off life-support- apparently he was an organ donor. Four dead because of one criminal with an AK-47. At least two of the dead were swat team officers. Whatever the city was paying these guys, it wasn’t enough. Oakland is becoming the new South Africa- the hills the ‘apartheid’ successful White people  area, the rest might as well be the congo. Whenever this situation is written about or discussed, the conversation inevitably turns to the shipyards, the disenfranchised, the projects, drugs, gangs, guns. It is always told in such a way that the reader is left feeling sad and probably guilty, but secretly relieved they aren’t anywhere near all of that. The writers find relatives and the obligatory sob story begins ” Marshonius just wanted a fresh start. He didn’t want to go back to jail. Everyone liked him. He fell in with the wrong crowd.”, as if he cut class and smoked a joint. As if taking shots at police will keep one out of jail. I know, head over to your sister’s place, where an AK-47 awaits you.
No one will ‘snitch’ because no one in Those Areas ever helps cops. Cops are the Enemy. Cops are The Man. Helping The Man is akin to helping The Great White Oppressor. Then comes the photo galleries. Pervasive Poverty and Despair. He dropped out of school in the 9th grade. That must be it. He came from a ‘broken home’. Then the discussion turns predictably to ‘diversity’ and how great it is.
Meanwhile, Oakland taxpayers and all of us who pay taxes continue to subsidize the Murder Colonies. There’s simply too many to farm them all  out to middle-class suburbs. Makes one wonder-to be a cop in a hellhole like that- you can’t be doing it for the money- maybe it pays enough to get by, but the pay isn’t the incentive. The odds are against them. They must know every day they go to work, the chances of getting shot are much higher than in other areas. Almost everyone they pull over could have a gun, could have a warrant out, or a felony record- and flip out. Do they think they can really provide any semblance of order, outnumbered as they are? I check out sgfgate.com, read some of the comments- martial law comes up repeatedly as a suggestion, and after this, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched. The city is either going to keep the status quo,or do something about it. Of course they will say they can’t afford it. Can they afford what is happening now?
The South Africa part of Oakland isn’t worried, they think they are all right with their home alarm systems, maybe they have a can of pepper spray stashed away. I hope they don’t actually think they are safe in them thar hills. If there is ever a riot, they better make sure they have their living trusts in place. The cops are just going to have to be a lot more pro-active with self-protection versus worrying about getting sued. No, I’m not kidding. The cops also have to go through some long nightmare process whenever they have to shoot someone.

Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy; Erv Romans, 43, of Danville; and Dan Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley, died Saturday after being shot in two related events by Lovelle Mixon, a 27-year-old parolee. Police later killed Mixon.

Life is full of trials and tribulations this is America and thank goodness for such a wonderful country. Education and enviroment does impact a person life and life lessons. One may see something one way and another their own distorted way. Fact people are quick to judge and not seek the truth. What occur on saturday was a tragedy and many are feeling the impact of a tremendous loss. Why resort to racial and diversity issues why not the character of a young man who was wrong for killing innocent law enforcement:-)He ultimately lost his life and disrupted the lives of many others.Crime is a problem everywhere and many are sadden by the cruel act of some criminal. The impact is deep and the pain of losing so many officers is great and sad:-) But not all in the rough areas of oakland agree with or accept this horrible loss. In fact maybe a handful are stiring up violence against cops. Have you walked the streets they walk have you endured the significant dangers they face everyday. Experience is far greater than sitting in a lovely office just writing. Most of the young people feel they have no hope and often don’t have a suitable family which allow them to be loved and love themselves. This does not justify it. Truth is if he could careless about himself and killed others for his own destruction.Shame on him:-) But to blame alot of people who don’t live in the hills and own a nice home isn’t fair. Some do try to raise above the fray but it’s people who create hate and hostility towards different ethnic groups is sad. Life is about choices and unfortunately not all are smart enough to know:-) Education and nuturing is important for creating a quality foundation for any person. Although it is ultimately the indiviual who is and will be accountable for their own actions.

Bless all law enforcement for allowing all of us the right to feel safe and protected. We must also allow them respect and work with them. Bless America we all have alot to learn. Life experiences are hard lessons saturday should have never happened and if any of us could we’d re wind that day and allow Sgt Hege, Mark Dunakin, Daniel Sakai and Officer Ervin Romans their lives back~

  2. The last part about wishing the cops had their lives back was right. As for the rest, I can see you tend to resort to the formulaic, reality-denier template- because you know in your heart what I’m saying is true. The reasons for this kind of crime are immaterial at this point-nothing works- social programs don’t work, the projects AKA Breeding Murder Colonies don’t work, free lunches don’t work, three strikes don’t work, rehab doesn’t work, big brothers don’t work- nothing , nothing has worked!

You are the one who makes false assumptions and tries to make points I never made. The people in the hills are not safe. They need to leave the second the market recovers. People do not ‘create hate’out of whole cloth. People are disgusted and angry about the fact that there are so very many just like this killer/rapist. The premise that law enforcement is to blame is obnoxious and misguided.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too, Ling. You can’t make excuses for criminals , which is what you did right before the one sentence about “not justifying it” and then turn around after that whole speech and pretend you care about the cops and isn’t it horrible.
    Fail.

An example of the PC Feel-Good Kaffee Klatch ‘The View’ Old-lady-head-shaking Reality Denial:

“We must be thoughtful and careful not to judge, people have screwed up childhoods, poverty, education, blabbity blah, it couldn’t be ‘diversity’ and race. We really should be looking at blah blah blah. IF we only focus on blah blah blah, perhaps these issues can be resolved or we can at least begin to start the conversation, blah blah. It’s such a tragedy, blah blah. We need to look at said killers individual life and is traumas rather than the fact that he is a dime a dozen, blah blah blah. We all need to remember, blah blah, we all should, blah blah, don’t look at reality…nurturing, quality foundation..feel-good words that don’t stop the killing- more feel-good excuses and feel-sorry for isms.. it’s all about the individual when making excuses, never that there are so many just like him, because that’s ‘hate’, blah blah blah…it’s because people aren’t very bright..we all need to learn lessons ..compassion..yadayadayada….”
