Mixon, a fugitive parolee who shot four Oakland police officers to death Saturday before he was killed as he hid inside his sister’s apartment, may have committed as many as five other rapes in the same neighborhood in recent months, investigators said. The victims in those rapes were all attacked in the early morning hours, the same time of day as the girl who was raped Feb. 5, and the assailant’s behavior was similar in all the assaults, police said.
The last officer in the Oakland cop-killing spree has been taken off life-support- apparently he was an organ donor. Four dead because of one criminal with an AK-47. At least two of the dead were swat team officers. Whatever the city was paying these guys, it wasn’t enough. Oakland is becoming the new South Africa- the hills the ‘apartheid’ successful White people area, the rest might as well be the congo. Whenever this situation is written about or discussed, the conversation inevitably turns to the shipyards, the disenfranchised, the projects, drugs, gangs, guns. It is always told in such a way that the reader is left feeling sad and probably guilty, but secretly relieved they aren’t anywhere near all of that. The writers find relatives and the obligatory sob story begins ” Marshonius just wanted a fresh start. He didn’t want to go back to jail. Everyone liked him. He fell in with the wrong crowd.”, as if he cut class and smoked a joint. As if taking shots at police will keep one out of jail. I know, head over to your sister’s place, where an AK-47 awaits you.
No one will ‘snitch’ because no one in Those Areas ever helps cops. Cops are the Enemy. Cops are The Man. Helping The Man is akin to helping The Great White Oppressor. Then comes the photo galleries. Pervasive Poverty and Despair. He dropped out of school in the 9th grade. That must be it. He came from a ‘broken home’. Then the discussion turns predictably to ‘diversity’ and how great it is.
Meanwhile, Oakland taxpayers and all of us who pay taxes continue to subsidize the Murder Colonies. There’s simply too many to farm them all out to middle-class suburbs. Makes one wonder-to be a cop in a hellhole like that- you can’t be doing it for the money- maybe it pays enough to get by, but the pay isn’t the incentive. The odds are against them. They must know every day they go to work, the chances of getting shot are much higher than in other areas. Almost everyone they pull over could have a gun, could have a warrant out, or a felony record- and flip out. Do they think they can really provide any semblance of order, outnumbered as they are? I check out sgfgate.com, read some of the comments- martial law comes up repeatedly as a suggestion, and after this, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched. The city is either going to keep the status quo,or do something about it. Of course they will say they can’t afford it. Can they afford what is happening now?
The South Africa part of Oakland isn’t worried, they think they are all right with their home alarm systems, maybe they have a can of pepper spray stashed away. I hope they don’t actually think they are safe in them thar hills. If there is ever a riot, they better make sure they have their living trusts in place. The cops are just going to have to be a lot more pro-active with self-protection versus worrying about getting sued. No, I’m not kidding. The cops also have to go through some long nightmare process whenever they have to shoot someone.
Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy; Erv Romans, 43, of Danville; and Dan Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley, died Saturday after being shot in two related events by Lovelle Mixon, a 27-year-old parolee. Police later killed Mixon.
